judges for 2010 will be ?.
You do not have to be an exhibitor to compete in Showmanship. Showmanship birds* will be housed in the owner’s transport carrier and the carriers will be stored along the west wall, near the Showmanship competition. Please have Showmanship birds in before 10am, when the competition begins. They should be taken out after Showmanship awards are handed out, on Saturday. Michigan Poultry Fanciers will provide feed and water, but as always everyone is responsible for feeding and watering their own birds. Birds entered for exhibition are not to be used for Showmanship…as always bring a separate bird for Showmanship. There is a $3 fee for each youth to participate in Showmanship competition. You may register by using the Showmanship Registration form.
*A reminder - Health requirements are regulated by the State. Exhibitors, of all poultry except waterfowl, must provide a parent flock NPIP certification number, VS9-2, VS9-3, or MDA state pullorum test certificate of Michigan before cooping-in birds for the show, sale area or Showmanship. You are encouraged to have your birds tested before the show, but testers will be available to test birds at the show during coop-in times only. A $1 per bird will be charged for this service.
Go to the APA-ABA Youth Program website for general information about Showmanship. We encourage all youth to participate in Showmanship, including those that are involved in 4H and FFA.
